Specialized Lawn Services
We realize that no program can control every situation, nor should it. That's why we also offer several important applications designed to control and improve specific lawn problems should they be present in your landscape. These additional services all carry the same high-level of service and quality that our lawn programs are known for having, by families throughout Northern Virginia. Your lawn technician will advise you if he feels that any of these additional services are needed and then you can make the decision if you want to invest a little more in your landscape's health and appearance. We will never try to high-pressure you into upgrading your service level or continually tell you that your lawn could really use this service or that service just to make another sale. Our technicians are trained to spot problems and offer solutions, but the choice is always yours. We just want you to know that if problems arise in your lawn, ProLawn will have a solution.
LAWN RESEEDING: This includes slice seeding, which is considered by most turf experts, as the best way to renew a thin or heavily thatched lawn. Sometimes lawns, either through years of neglect or extreme weather conditions, will need to be revitalized. Slice seeding actually cuts a very thin slice in the soil and deposits a measured amount of seed into the slice providing in a short period of time, a new, thicker lawn. Many homeowners try to overseed their lawns by just tossing out any brand of grass seeds in their yard and hope for the best. In actuality, very few of these seeds will germinate and thrive. Slice seeding actually puts seeds directly in contact with the soil where they are almost guaranteed to produce a strong healthy plant.

CORE AERATION: Some lawns have a thick layer of thatch or have been compacted from years of heavy traffic with no, or little maintenance. Core aerating actually removes small, finger sized plugs of soil and thatch from the lawn and deposits it on the soil's surface. Also removed are microbes that live just below the soil's surface. These microbes begin to chew away on the layer of thatch and over time, that thatch layer turns into a form of compost that is actually beneficial to the lawn. In time the small holes will fill back in with surrounding top soil and your lawns root system has more room to develop and spread out.
GRUB MANAGEMENT: When grubs become a problem and your lawn has unexplained dead spots in it, then close inspection will tell if grubs are present and causing the damage. Our Grub Management program will eliminate grubs from your lawn so that next year you'll have a beautiful lawn free of dead spots caused by these very destructive larvae.
LAWN DISEASE MANAGEMENT: Sometimes good lawns get sick. Sometimes from too much water, too much shade, too cold of winter or too much snow. Whatever the reason, lawn diseases can be a major problem, especially if it's not treated as soon as possible. Your trained ProLawn technician will always be on the lookout for any signs of lawn diseases that may be lurking just beneath the surface and before it can spread.
We also offer specialized vegetation control and fall overseeding. Call our office for more details.
